Cooking with love

I'm cooking prawn fried rice for dinner tomorrow!  I prepared / chopped / julienned the ingredients so when I finish work, all I have to do is bring out the raw material from the fridge.  ^_____^
  • Prawn
  • Red cabbage
  • French beans
  • Eggs
  • Canned tuna in water
  • Garlic
  • Onion
  • Brown rice (left overnight in the fridge)
  • Lots of love for myself (cheers for choosing to cook healthy food!!!)
I thought of adding carrot (not my favorite) and/or pineapple but I'm scared if it is going to be like...  too many flavor in a palate?  Maybe pineapple (always goes well with prawn kan?).  Will get a nenas then!

Anyway, the neighbor's daugther is crying again.  Sometimes I like to think that there is a orang kerdil family living in the wall, so that what's I heard is actually the orang kerdil's daugther cries.  Hmm...

Love you boys!  Including LouLou, of course!  <3

Here my LouLou boy, enjoying his sunbathing session!

Not only he refused to read the book (Amy Tan's Joy Luck Club),
he even barred the sofa from everyone else!

Mommy, I think I will read the paper after I'm done chewing this.

Escaping the two lazy boys & taking a walk to a temple..

P.S.  I can't believe we are almost at the end of Year 2011!  On a different note, I have loads of photos (of the boys) which I have yet to post.  Actually, I am trying to distract myself from being mad at an idiot who parks his/her car in front of my house.  But then again, I am not going out so...  yeah, just leave it.  Still, I don't understand why some people would do thing that is convenient for them without even thinking about others.  Something wrong with the way dia punya moyang ajar dia.  Mimang kurang ajar ba orang < tut >!!!

Ubat batuk cap ibu & anak

Shorty was coughing in the middle of the night.
At first I thought "Ahh..  This boy might just want me to kick him out of the room."
Granted his "wish" but the coughing continued.
Lunch time - still coughing; and I started to get worry.
I took this gross picture for the vet's reference.
I'm inexperienced mommy >.<

Rebellious & refused to get out from under the bed!

He was too occupied with the view - I had no idea what caught his attention!

Diagnosed as having upper respiratory infection.
It can spread to the lower respiratory system - scary!
*sigh*  RM90 poorer!
(2 jabs, 1 antibiotic & 1 for the cough)

I want to play, I don't want to eat the medicine!
(I had to boil chicken bones & mix the medicine into the slurpee soup!)

Shorty!  Shorty!

Asking me for a hug, the poor boy!

love love less loveless

.: life a s0rta Fa!rytale :. mentioned briefly about marriage;

Penelope Trunk wrote about "Blueprint for a Woman's Life";

and a recent article in Psychology Today defines what love is.

Anyway, I was worried (and am still worry!) about Shorty coughing badly last night.  Got to check him at home during lunch break.  I might need to bring him to see the vet after work.

Shorty, mommy loves you!

Why it is still there?

Melancholy (Edvard Munch Gallery)

Here I am...  Comparing LouLou's fresh, boyish face and his rugged look (he's defending it by saying: "I'm a big man now.").

Sigh...  What a huge different.

I have lost all his baby photos, the ones left are what I have got in the old blog - which is why I am still keeping and updating it.

Sigh...  I don't know why I feel so nostalgic with my boys today.  Especially LouLou.

Sometimes Most of the time, I feel guilty for leaving LouLou sleeping outside for the whole night while I sleep in my comfortable bed.  Sometimes he won't come back before midnight; and I will be freaking mad because I had spent my whole night waiting for him when I know I should have my early rest.

That stupid cat.

Maybe r.i.n.a. is right.  Maybe I should ask the vet to spay him.

Battle v.3, I think?

Yet.  Another.  Stupid.  Fight.

He wasn't home yet when I came back from work yesterday.  This silly boy secretly appeared and curi-curi finishing his food before he cabut again for another fight - my wild guess, thanks to his nature!  Thanks to my highly alert housemates who told me "I think you need to see your cat; his face is so bloody!"

Mind you, I just bathed them on Monday.  So right on the following day he came back to me with wounds and bruises and scratches!  Niamah!  I expect them to remain immaculate at least for a day.  A day, only!

Today I bought him that funny-looking shield to prevent him from licking the cream.  He hates it so much and tries to take it off as I am writing this.  Aww LouLou, just be a little patient, okie?  When the cream is dry we'll take it off and you can sleep nicely.

My room smells like a hospital now.  Even looks like one because all of the cotton pads, hydrogen peroxide, antiseptic spray and the cream!

Huhuhu...  I don't care about the smell now.  I just want him to heal quickly.

Love myself

Cute image only from we<3it

Good morning!  Selamat pagi!  Zao an!  Chow san!

It is just 10:15am but I am already into my 2nd mug of coffee!!!  So greedy!  & so unhealthy!  I drink more & more when idling time {gasp!!!}  Anyway, I am happy to wake up early at 08:30am this morning.  I have time to clean my room, put the dirty laundry into the washing machine, and even swept the dried leaves from the car porch.  I feel good; or perhaps because it is sunny now?  Nevertheless, I hope you have a great weekend!  Take care.

P.S.  If you're stress or sort of depressed because of the (way too commercialized) Valentine's Day, I say you don't have to feel so.  Not everyone is celebrating it - me including, because what's the point?  But that doesn't mean I dislike those celebrating it - people are free to choose, right?  Anyway, have fun reading what the others think about the VDay.

Thank You, Part 1

A thank you note from weheartit
LouLou theCat woke me up at 5.30am because he wanted to have a super early breakfast.  Yeah, 5.30am is not exactly my wakeup time.  I would prefer to get out of the bed at 8, 9am any given day.

But then again, I am glad to be alive.  Yes, it is the 3rd week of 2011.  I am still breathing, how can I not be grateful?

I cannot remember the details of what I have been doing for the 1st 19 days of 2011.  When my sister texted me about a pair of shoes that we saw last Christmas, I have just realized that I have not been into the mall for almost a month!

Anyway, I am happy staying at this (new) place.  Especially when I have a helpful neighbor who will collect my laundry when the God of Rain decided to pee on that beautiful day; report to me how Shorty was doing (he cried the moment you're out of his sight; he was very quiet and ignoring people; he was barking at LouLou who was sneaking into the other neighbor's porch, et cetera).

Alright, time to get ready to work.  Tata!

Sprinkled!'s new look

I posted one of my favorite photos quite recently here.

Since then, I have been thinking of placing it somewhere where I always see it.  My working cube is a no-no because I prefer it to be squeakily professional.  My employer have mentioned nothing against personal picture(s) on our cubicles.  So it is just me, setting such rules for myself.

So I guess my very own blog is a perfect place to worship Shorty!  Hence, having time on a quiet Saturday, with the boys snuggly sleeping still, I did a little editing here and there on the pix.  The result?  I love it.  Hahaha!!!  Syiok sendiri la!!!

Now I do not only have a self-personalized header (despite my lack of expertise in graphic/art/media, I am proud of my effort), it is like my self-confession of how I adore my boys by portraying them there.

Err.. Enough of self-ism here.

Shorty & LouLou, thank you for being with me all these times.  To our new journey in 2011, woofmeowwoofmeow!!!

a free styled one,

a busy one,

or a quiet one.

Here wishing you a happy, happy new year!
Cheers!!!

I deserve it.

Lovely image from Ana Guerrero!!!

“I don't wish to be

everything to everyone,

but I would like to be

something to someone.”

I promise to be truer to myself.  I don't care about the others.  (So what's the big deal if I don't go to church anymore!?  Do you see me booking myself a hot seat in Hell?!)  I just want to be happy.  I want to be me for myself.

P.S.  To myself:  What an emo post!

What kind of pet owner you are?

Source taken from:  Canine Corner
  • Dominionists, who are fond of their pets but view them primarily as useful animals, not companions.
  • Humanists, who see their pets as practically human.
  • Protectionists, who see animals as separate beings that humans have a responsibility to help and protect. This group includes many people who take in foster pets or volunteer to care for abandoned animals.
So which one is you?

I say I am somewhat between a humanist and a protectionist (based on the descriptions above).

I call them my boys.  Or my furkids.  There was time when one of my colleagues thought I have human kids!  I worry about them when I am not at home, although my neighbors are pretty much caring about them especially Shorty, and try to sneak home during office hours whenever possible!  They sleep with me, yes.  LouLou loves to sleep near my feet but I always ask him to sleep on the makeup table - sometimes he obliged but the bed is still his favorite nest.  Shorty, the big boy, would sleep under the bed or near the door.  Sometimes I call him to sleep near to me so I can touch him while the three of us sleep...

Panda-eyed mommy

I had to wake up at 2am in the morning because Shorty poo-poo on my bathroom’s mat.  I was close to scolding him but when I saw the watery poo, I just called him out from under the bed and hugged him.  The night before, LouLou was meowing fiercely in my face, jumping non-stop from the drawer to my bed and into my face until I opened the bathroom door for him.  He pee-pee, and we were back to sleep again.

Sometimes I just wish that Shorty get more vocal whenever he needs to answer a nature’s call although I find it quite annoying when LouLou persistently meow for the bathroom when I was sound asleep.

But anyway, that is the difference between the two of them.  One just contented doing it quietly without disturbing me (until the stench wakes me up) while another must shake and stir me to get what he wants.  Boys…

Thank God tomorrow is Saturday and I can sleep as much as I want (after two nights of interrupted sleep).

Adopt a pet

A dog doesn't care if you're rich or poor, big or small, young or old. He doesn't care if you're not smart, not popular, not a good joke-teller, not the best athlete, nor the best-looking person. To your dog, you are the greatest, the smartest, and the nicest human being who was ever born. You are his friend and protector.
- Louis Sabin

If you are looking for a pet now, why not adopt instead of buying one? Some adoption might be free of charges, while some will charge at a minimum rate (not for making a profit) for spaying/neutering and de-worming the animals. My two boys were neither bought from the petshops nor were adopted from an animal shelter. I took them straight from the street. Now I am not saying that you should go rescue all the animals out there – because you cannot guess whether they will attack/injure you or not. I guess I was just purely lucky to get a mild-tempered Shorty who did not fight back when I put him in the car.

Shorty theDog and LouLou theCat were stray animals – I think I did mentioned about this somewhere. LouLou was rescued when he was still quite young, maybe just a few months old at that time. He was very dirty when I took him home – his white furs were yellowish partly because he did not know how to clean it. And because of that too, he smell of kittypoopoo and kittypeepee. Now, he has been with me for 2 wonderful years. Despite being a grown up kitty now, he still like to get Shorty to lick him. The only time I see him licking himself intensively is after I give him a bath. I somehow think that me (human) and Shorty (dog) kind of mis-educated him (cat).

Shorty was a serious case for me when I saved him from the street. He was almost fur-less; and the vet told me that it would took few months for him to recover from the skin infection. So there I was, religiously feeding him the dog vitamins and supplements and cleaning him with medicated shampoo. I am so thankful that today, he is one yellow-haired dog that I love to hug and squeeze! He still has a bad habit of hiding food i.e. in the soil, between the pillows, etc, which I guess, something he had habitually done when he was a stray dog trying to keep safe the food from other dogs. Nonetheless, he is adorable and always loves by the neighbors.

If you plan to adopting one, get on down to these websites. I hope you will find your furry friends there!
