Safety first

OK.  It is Friday.  And you might go for luncheon a bit far from your office because, obviously, it is Friday where we get our extra minutes.  Or you might go for drinks after work - yeah!  to kick off the weekends, right.  Or, you are going to join the crowd in the shopping mall (like me!!!).

Whatever the stuff you're doing, please, please, please... BE CAREFUL with your surrounding.  Watchout who is standing behind you (I always glance at my back when I'm at the ATM).  Walk in the opposite direction of the traffic & make sure your bag is at the inner side of the road - not exposing it to the (sial) snatch thieves.

OK?  OK.  I will keep that in my mind too.  Because you don't want to experience what this girl have gone through, do you?

Enjoy your Friday!

Saturday's therapy

I'm so sinful!

My initial plan was to get Elizabeth Gilbert's Committed but I ended up with extras!
  1. As I mentioned before, it's sinful if I don't get it by now.  RM35.50 @Popular; but I got a 20% member discount so yeay!!!  Happy reading to myself!
  2. L'oreal Total Repair Night Essence - Leave In.  RM36.90 @Guardian.  To fix breakage, dryness, dullness, coarseness & split-ends.  Poor hair, I only get it for you now.
  3. Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub.  RM16.88 @Guardian.  I love scrubbing my face everyday so a daily scrub sounds perfect!
  4. Scholl Foot & Nail Cream.  RM23.90 @Guardian.  I think my normal body lotion is not creamy.  Valid reason, eh?
  5. Nivea Hand Age Defying Q10 Plus.  RM14.09 @Guardian.  I'm afraid that my hand will age faster than my face if I don't pay attention.  I should learn to love my hands just as much as I love my face (and other parts of my anatomy, as the matter of fact!).
  6. Giordano Skinny Fit Jeans.  RM125.10 (after discount, that's it).  Why I need it?  Because the other pair is getting thinner (the fabric, yeah...).  Ooh yeah!  I need to send it to a tailor to make a minor alteration before I could actually wear it.
Sinful, sinful, sinful indulgence!

Grocery shopping

Bacon RM17.80
Chicken RM6.47
Eggs RM 3.80
Sweet corn RM2.69
Cheese in olive oil RM7.50
Carrot RM1.99
Broccoli RM1.42
Purple cabbage RM2.71
Baby butterhead RM2.55
Thai small red onion RM3.99
Total RM51.00

By the way, I was slightly mad when I saw Jusco is selling a toothpaste at RM13.49.  I bought the very same toothpaste from Giant at RM14.99!!!  I am not Giant's big fan but was sort of being dragged into the hypermarket.  I rather shops at Jusco at any time (it feels less wholesale-like market than Giant, Tesco & Carrefour) but I wonder why some said Jusco is more expensive than other stores.

And I do not cook the chicken and the carrot for myself; it is for Shorty.  I just mix grated carrot and a chunk of chicken into the rice and voila!  Dinner done, my boy.  (Shorty's lunch is always provided by his kai ma, that lucky boy!)

Enough of rant.

P.S.  I really hate carrot as my food, but I can accept carrot juice.

Happy Shopping!

It has been awhile ago since I did my last online shopping. So the online shopping mood strikes me again as I was stuck at the office with not much workload due to Raya, yeah!!!

Today I got my parcel safely from GRABBIT. I had it sent to my office address because in my past experience:
  • I had to rush to the post office after I reached home from work, mind you, despite the considerably short distance between work-home-post office, the traffic just made me want to run instead of driving! or;
  • I had to pick it up the next day and left me wondering about the item I was about to receive - I hate surprises! or;
  • Once, a brainless postman slipped the parcel in between my gate but luckily it was not raining or else everything got soaked!
Tata! I'm going to shops now!

Famous Friday

Today is Friday.

Today is Friday on which I decide I want to do a simple good act.

(I admit I am not a very good person so…)

I was reading The Fame & The Shame on Night Owl Says when I noticed that one blogshops that I like is not on the fame list.  And because I had a wonderful experience buying from the seller, I took all the trouble of making a short testimonial so that she can be nominated.

Who is she?  My Walking Wardrobe.

The blouse I bought from her becomes my favourite top for this year.  It is just a simple one (or two actually, because I bought two of the same item but in different colors), but since it is quite difficult for me to find clothing that really fit me snuggly, having one than suit me well really makes me one happy online shopper.

Aww!  That makes me itching to go shopping again!  Tata!

Post-madness

Obviously I was too mad with with the Government's decision to cut the subsidies.  Still a little mad now but I am trying to figure out what I can do.  But I do wish that when they said "cut!", it just one item (i.e. sugar) at one time.  So that the coffee shops & mamak stalls have no valid reason to increase their prices as only sugar price is increased.  But as the diesel price is increased as well, transporting goods (not only sugar) will cost slightly more than the previous one.  Who'll absorbs it then?  The final consumer.

I admit that I am too lazy to cook but eating out means I have to pay for a price I might not agreed.  I have to start eating at home if that means I can save some, if not more.

Where is the used plastic bags?  I need it to go shopping for groceries!

Midday laziness

Went for chicken rise rise rice for lunch with the girls.  I cannot finish the rice (as usual); but even so I still feel like something or someone is pulling down my eyelids.  Too sleepy until I wrongly spelled rice (rise) twice!  I thought of going for coffee at the canteen but it's still to early for it and I'll be as sleepy as before regardless how many cups of kopi I drink.

Now I'm starting to plan for tonight...
  • Shops for Najmi's wedding gift
  • Text/call mommyeryna so that I can pass the stuff to her
  • Dinner!!!  What's for tonight's dinner?
  • Return books to library (I'll be looking for another Sophie Kinsella's titles...  I just finish "The Undomestic Goddess" and found it quite nice actually.)
  • Buy meaty meals for the boys  ^_____^
Ouch!  Why time passes so slow when I want it to be fast!?  I'm dying for a coffee now...

The Face Shop: Brightening Rice Water Cleansing Emulsion

Bought a bottle of Brightening Rice Water Cleansing Emulsion from The Face Shop as my new makeup remover.  Luckily I've done my homework about it before going to the shop because:
  • The sales girl have braces & a thick accent that I could hardly understand what she was saying.  But I was glad because she actually spent quite some time behind the mirror while I quietly browsed the products before approaching me.  I DO hate it when they tailed me as if I am going to steal anytime!  Okie, okie, I know they have good intention of answering my questions & promoting stuff...
  • The Faceshop is currently having sales & lots of the products are on discounted price!  I left the shop before I start having the itchy "impulse buying".

The initial verdict:
  • A little on the oily side but not as heavy as the previous makeup remover (Clinique).  I hope it won't give me spots!
  • A very subtle smell yet still acceptable & doesn't give me dizziness (I don't like scented ones).
  • A total of one & a half pumps of the emulsion is enough to remove my makeup - how much to use is depends on how light/heavy the makeup, I think.
  • Save my wallet (price is 1/3 of Clinique or 1/2 of Avene).
Let's see in one week time on the effect!  ^_____^

Edited on Sept. 2, 2010
The final verdict:
  • It does not cause breakouts to me.
  • Overall, it done a good job as a makeup remover.

Vanity fair

Finally tried Refining Herb Mask from Skinlite which I bought a month ago.  Oh!  I actually almost forgotten about it.  See, I am not very religious when it comes to facial / skin care and stuff.  But sometimes I feel like pampering myself a little bit so...

This one feels good on the skin; it didn't itch my skin like the other one.  It says it is for regulation the oil (or is it sebum?) and suitable for oily face - mine can be hellishly oily on a bad, bad day!  I cannot say how good it is, I think I need to use it more frequent i.e. at least once a week to see the effect, or maybe...

Anyway, being the lazy person I am, I bought another two new sheets - one is Refining Herb Mask (reason: like I mentioned before) and one Green Tea Essence Mask.  Oh!  And Hydro Soothing Cucumber Pads for my dearie eyes (in a zipper bag, just for trial).

Main Entry: shoe (part 2)

Huloo!!!  Part 1 is >>>  h e r e  <<<

Had a bad start in the morning because I can't get the breakfast that I wanted, so ended up buying few pieces of fried tofu which could actually feed all my colleagues.  Nah, I am just exaggerating.  But I think I bought too much of it without even thinking when I made an order of... 3 plates (each have 4 pieces of tofu).  So mindless!  Guess I have to eat tofu for breakfast (already eaten 3/4 of a plate), lunch (another plate) & coffeebreak/dinner (one last plate!).

Shoe, ya, I am supposed to talk write about shoe.  I got a reply from Le Clothes PO so that means I am closer to getting my new white shoe!  Thank god I buat muka tebal requesting them to inform me if they have a white pair in the future.  And they replied me:

So happy!

Main Entry: shoe

Part of Speech: noun
Definition: footwear
Synonyms: basketball shoe, boat shoe, boot, cleat, clog, cowboy boot, flip-flops, footgear, golf shoe, high heels, hightops, loafer, moccasin, penny loafer, platform shoe, pump, running shoe, sandals, slipper, sneaker, tennis shoe, wing-tip, work shoe
(From: Thesaurus.com)

My Nike running shoes-cum-working-shoes is beginning to show its wear-and-tear sign.  Which means I have a valid reason to shops (online and/or offline).  Laugh wickedly while thinking what a fun it would be!!!  I have a few items that I like but it is not something that I must buy; just a pre-guideline mental note before venturing into shoe-hunting mode this weekend.  It could spell disaster if I do not make any notes because I might end up buying stuff I don't really 100% need/want!!!

I don't know why I am picking white the most.  And I am definitely not buying a running/sporty type this time.  So, so not!  The Keds looks not so girly, neat, simple, yet wearable with jeans (which I wear everyday to work), hot pants, mini-skirts, bohemian outfits, summer dress...  The possibility of wearing it to everywhere is so high!  Yeah, I am the type who would wear the same footwear with different clothes.  Now, why waste $$$ just to match a pair of shoe with an outfits when I can just do it with ONE & ONLY pair of shoe???  Too bad Keds is not available here (Pepper Red is wayyyy too far for me, please...) so I will be happily content if I manage to get something identical, or quite similar.

Bookeekend

After spending Friday & Saturday $h0pp1ng, $h0pp1ng and $h0pp1ng...  an idle Sunday is most welcome for my-wallet-suffered-from-a-3rd-degree-burn yours truly.  (What?!  Did you just said the font colors are hurting your eyes?  Oh oh...  But I guess it doesn't hurt as much as my wallet.)  My legs were also aching eventhough I remember wearing the most-feet-friendly loafers.  Well, two days...  So I guess Mr. Loafers reached his limit of supporting me around.  I guess I should withdraw from it and (calling Mommy Eryna & Co.) let's go online retails! Hahaha!!!

Finally, I finished the books (yes, plural, not singular):

Hmm...  I haven't read all of Meg Cabot's books.  But so far I like The Boy Next Door.  And since I love reading (but hate spending on books because I need to prioritize the money into something else - not neccesary better than buying reading materials, mind you), I got myself a membership at the public library.  Now I can borrow books!  How nice is that right?

Where is all the stuff?!

I bought a bag.  A black bag.  Actually I don't need a new one since I've so many bags actually - all of it freebies - like one from The Body Shop; another from Clinique and a Starbucks one.  But there is one thing that strike me only recently: all these bags are green-toned.  Two of it in fresh lime green to be exact - no, I don't hate lime green, in fact I love its refreshing, cooling effect.  See?!  I told you!  Try to read the lime-green text again - it's fun!  Go!

But none of these have a designated compartment for smaller stuff, or stuff that you want to hide from the public view.  But then again, I have nothing to hide actually.  Yeah, you will find nothing interesting inside my bag.

So I bought this new bag which have...  let me check...  Inside:  2 open compartments & 1 zipped one.  Outside:  1 zipped compartment.  I supposed I will get more organize if I have these funtional compartments, NO!  I still stuffed everything huge and tiny into the bag, I am as clueless as a blur sotong as what to do with those zipped/non-zipped special spaces.  Oh!  Enough of nonsense rambling.  Here's the pix (photo credits to Zappos):

Shopping at my desk

I am guitly of doing online shopping while at work!  But isn't it ironic that the forbidden activities (i.e. while at work) are always more interesting than our job descriptions?  I am a newbie in online shopping and only tried it out recently because previously I was:
  • Quite sceptical with the internet transaction
  • Worried if the seller is cheating me
  • Worried if the item does not fit me (I know I can be a very fussy buyer, like asking the seller to measure everything just to be sure - but I don't want to do so)
Luckily, my online shopping experience has been a pleasant one.  Thank you to these girls from Sugar Dressing and Shopper Goddess.  Did I mentioned I save more by shopping online?  Now that's a stealer!

Cherry mood

The work has kept me busy yesterday so I rewarded myself with some pampering facial mask.  I bought 2 masks from Sasa - I just love the wide variety of mask with eye-catching packing that they have in store!

See?  See?  The packaging are so cute!  I haven't try these yet but first impression is important, isn't it?

Anyway, today is Friday!  Yeah!

Happy Friday to all!

Edited on Sunday:
Tried the Hydrating Herb Mask.  It stinged the skin of my chin area at first (the sensitive, dry part) but otherwise it is good and leaving the skin supple.  Also, I wish the sheet is less flimsy, making it difficult to apply for the clumsy me.  Another bonus point for those who don't like scented beauty product is, it is odorless.

Stretching the lunch box

11:30 am
Digging my way out of my workplace

11:33 am
At the bank; so-not-willingly making myself poorer

12:03 pm
Out of the bank, into the hot, hot town

12:20 pm
Went to collect clothes but the tailor shop was closed for lunch. =.=
Bought a newspaper although I know I will be too tired to read after work.
Bought a pair of black Mary Janes at Bata - my first purchase of footwear for this year which I'm not sure whether it is necessary or not.
Bought canned coffee & honey flavor green tea from 7Eleven.
Bought egg tart, cheese bun, doughnut & hotdog from the local bakery for lunch (and maybe for supper).

13:00 pm
Back to office safely  (:

If you wonder why I said "stretching", it is because my workplace's lunch time is only 45 minutes (12:00 pm - 12:45pm).

Tuileries Gardens

So happy that I received my Tuileries Dress from Shopper Goddess today - thank you, girl!  Mine is a beige color (lazy to take another shoot).  I sent it to a seamstress on the same day to alter the arm because it is a bit to big for me.  I was planning to save this dress for this year's Christmas (yes!  I know it is still too early but...) but it is so cute that I think I will wear it as soon as I get it back.

I also sent another dress and two formal blouse for altering job although I seldom wear them; just thought that I better send everything to repair at one shot.

Happy Sunday!
