I went back to the house despite knowing that I can only spend a maximum of 20 minutes with the boys within the one-hour lunch break.
20 minutes driving home
20 minutes talk to the F l u f f y shrinks
20 minutes drive back to office
Lately nothing sparks an interest to me at work. I tried. I looked. I observed. I stopped.
Nothing!
That is worrisome. I am so scared of getting bored with my job!
And I find it difficult to talk to the air-headed bunch.
So I drove home.
To my F l u f f y shrinks.
I left LouLou theCat outdoor with Shorty theDog when I left in the morning, he must have been glad that I was back during the lunchtime to let him in.
Shorty as the usual crazy self, half expecting me to take him for a stroll (seriously, under the scorching sun?!), and half wanting me to rub his belly.
F l u f f y Shorty got belly-rubbing, while I was waiting for the water to boil.
F l u f f y LouLou meowed me from the kitchen, asking if he can have a canned fish instead of the biscuit.
Now I got confused - who's the shrink? Because it looks like I am the one responding to their needs; like how a psychiatrist responds to / analyzes a patient.
Nonetheless, in between feeding LouLou, playing with Shorty and having a hot drink (as my lunch!), I found my sanity. At least I stopped thinking, worrying, analyzing about work.
My F l u f f y boys!
Too bad it was raining when I got home in the second-half time. Otherwise I will take Shorty strolling around the taman.
We are moving ;)
Please join me, Shorty & LouLou at our new 'home':

Safety first
OK. It is Friday. And you might go for luncheon a bit far from your office because, obviously, it is Friday where we get our extra minutes. Or you might go for drinks after work - yeah! to kick off the weekends, right. Or, you are going to join the crowd in the shopping mall (like me!!!).
Whatever the stuff you're doing, please, please, please... BE CAREFUL with your surrounding. Watchout who is standing behind you (I always glance at my back when I'm at the ATM). Walk in the opposite direction of the traffic & make sure your bag is at the inner side of the road - not exposing it to the (sial) snatch thieves.
OK? OK. I will keep that in my mind too. Because you don't want to experience what this girl have gone through, do you?
Enjoy your Friday!

Bad food service
I witnessed one unpleasant incident at the canteen today.
Customer: I want to return this. (showing a plate of veggie)
Canteen: Why? (buat muka bodoh)
Customer: It smells so bad.
Canteen: (take the plate, look at the veggie container at the counter at stirring it with the large spatula) Nothing wrong.
Customer: (losing his patience) Smell and see.
Canteen: (with her monkey-donkeyish face) …
And while the customer was eating, the monkey-donkey lady went over to his place.
Canteen: You don’t complain to me, but when you see my boss, you tell her.
Customer: (nodding his head, looking blankly at the monkey-donkey lady, and continue eating)
Canteen: (still not satisfied with the response and continue to defend herself) I’m only the worker.
Aha! That is when I almost explode listening to such a selfish explanation!
I wanted yell at the monkey-donkey lady
THAT IS WHY YOU ARE STUCK AT BEING A FOOD SERVICE OPERATOR ONLY BECAUSE YOU CANNOT EVEN SOLVE FOR SUCH A SIMPLE MATTER!Well, I have nothing against any waiters/waitresses but this idiot one just makes me want to punch her face!
She could have checked the food prior to selling it. If the food still okay (visual-, taste- & smell-wise), to the display counter it goes. If not, report to the manager. Was it so difficult to do?! Either her brain is baked in the microwave or she forgotten to put it on this morning.
I am self-banning myself from buying food from them (which actually started long before this incident happened), and not even a canned drink.

= Sandwich
It is a rainy season according to The Star news report. Based on my observations, it is most likely to rain in the afternoon. To avoid from having a wet, soaking lunch outside, I packed my lunches from home for the past few days. My home-cooked meals are becoming more frequent than before as I gradually adapt to waking up early in the morning to prepare it. But today I was not quite wanting to eat rice for lunch, so I just made a simple sandwich which (I think) is nutritious and filling. Then I ate a fruity yogurt (mixed with honeydew, kiwi & plum). That's one healthy food there! Last, but not least, I broke my one-coffee-a-day to have a second one for lunch. But it's a sugarless one so no harm there.

Picky eater
I admit that I’m a picky eater. A habit I have since I was young. Ask my parents. They tried many ways to get me eating. Mommy told me that I used to stuff my food in my mouth until she realized that I had not swallowed anything!
Now that I’m older, my pickiness somehow is not subdued but even getting worst sometimes. One day I’m a voracious eater; another day I could puke just by looking at the menu.
Just like early this week, I bought myself Indian rojak and pork porridge for brunch. I cleaned my bowls (except for the potatoes in the rojak – I hate puh-tey-toh). Then, I went on munching on raisin biscuits and butter cookies before I finally smothered all down with a mug of my favourite poison: coffee.
And just few days ago, I felt extremely hungry and insatiable throughout the day. I had oatmeal with milk for breakfast. After taking lunch, I went on eating peanut butter sandwiches which I luckily packed for coffee break that day. And since I’d eaten my bread before the break, I just took cream crackers with coffee. By dinner time, I was still feeling full from the whole day crazy eating that I just drank a hot cocoa drink.
Today, I skipped breakfast (I was late for work!!! Again!!!). Strangely I don’t feel hungry at all. At lunch, I barely finished my meal. I think I only ate two-thirds of it. What a waste! I still have egg sandwiches. Now I really feel like throwing up!!!

Happy meal!
I might or might have not mentioned that I don’t like cooking, that my kitchen is only for me to make coffee. And even that one is just an instant one, mind you. Not the type that requires me to fill grounded beans into an espresso machine. Nothing. Needless to say, I am quite (subtly speaking) disastrous when it comes to kitchen/cooking part.
But after years of eating out (which started when I was a student), I feel somehow my taste buds has been wipe out. I’m not saying the shops are selling bad stuff.
So this morning I prepared my lunchbox which consist of very simple dishes: a stir-fried sawi with tofu and fried egg. Anyway, I don’t like greens so I finely chopped the sawi. Now I don’t have to chew it a lot, do I? But I think the vitamins leach this way faster during cooking, someone please tell me about it.
And because I can barely contain my excitement (of making a successful edible meal), I skyped Whoelses this morning – just to announced it! I almost laughed at myself too when she said: “wah! nak jatuh kerusi!” Then it hit me: How I wish I can share my lunchbox with her (to Whoelses: pork-free, ya?) because I used to “steal” hers.
Happy eating!
P.S.: Missing my old colleagues :((((( You girls are wonderful!

Fishy fried fish
Disclaimer: This has nothing to do with people who want to killed Paul the sotong (octopus) and eat him.
I've got an itchy throat after lunch. At first I just thought it was because I didn't drink enough water after eating, you know, sort of washing it down. But after a while, the itchiness still persistly disturbing me.
Then I complained to the makcik about it. She asked what I had for lunch, and said "ikan goreng tu, diorang guna minyak goreng tu banyak kali, tak baik, tu yang you rasa gatal tu." (It must be the fried fish as they reuse the cooking oil many times which is actually not a good practise. That's why you feel itchy.)
I love fried food a lot. So far I manage to stay away from pisang goreng (banana fritters) after mom told me some of the sellers melted plastic into the cooking oil so that the fritters stay crispy longer. And because they usually use the same oil/wok to fry other kuih, I avoid those as well.
Not that I am such a health freak, but I'm just trying to minimize taking harmful elements into my existing over-polluted body.
I understand from the food seller point of view that they have to reuse the cooking oil to save cost. I, as a consumer, have no idea how many times it will be use again and again. And I have no basis to accuse them for making me sick because of the reuse oil. Perhaps that is something I still can accept.
But adding something which is clearly non-edible (i.e. plastic, melamine) just to ensure the food is saleable and therefore bringing large profits to them?!?! What were they thinking? Have they ever thought about others?
Hmm... I don't want to get too agitated about it. Maybe tomorrow I'll need to skip fried stuff and eat more vegetables (yikes!) and tofu.
By the way, how long you'll reuse the cooking oil? Mom told me that she uses twice before throwing it away, "Chef Wan said so'", she said.

Half a beef sandwich
- Bought a beef sandwich for lunch yesterday; I thought I take some bites while driving but turn out it is not as conveniently small as McD's Fillet'O Fish burger which I can efficiently hold only my left hand (the same hand also navigate the gear) and right hand 100% on the steering wheel. Missed my lunch but again, efficiently converting it into Shorty's and my breakfast (half for each). He's happy, and I'm happy too. ^_____^
- Texted Najmi. She called but the line was so blurry! So I emailed her instead. Miss her!
- Done a bit of online (window) shopping. Didn't order anything. Want to learn to be like Queen Mother.
- My head is spinning from too much of excitement. Giddy dizzy bits of me! Life, is so full of it, don't you agree?!

Quicker than a Quickie
- Had a late lunch at 2pm due to urgent stuff at workplace. Thought want to skip but hate feeling hungry later in the afternoon. Besides, I don't have biscuits in my drawer now, only a gluten-free yoghurt bar. Not exactly what I like to go with my afternoon coffee.
- Funny quote of the day (read full article here). Despite me having no intention to have my own sooner/later, I still think there is something bothering, and objectionable about the part that reads "...or have none at all".
"The No. 1 thing people can do to be an eco-sexual is to have fewer kids, or have none at all," said Weiss, who is childless.
- Was thinking of doing a bit of online shopping when I was dragged out of the office. It was about work. I missed my coffee.
