Good Tuesday

LouLou:  "I'm sunbathing and I'm naked.  Sexy, not?"

I am counting my blessing (despite being sucked into the big black hole this morning - what a "nice" way to start someone's day!).

I survived the day.  I refuse to bow down to that thing.  "that thing" is not a human.  No human would show disrespect to the other human.  Ooh!  And for claiming "I'm from Kehel."  Patut laa...  Kuala Lumpur.  Everything about that thing is berlumpur (muddy)!  I rename that thing "Berek Be'che".  :-p  And I set his ringtone as "a bark dog".  Hahaha!  Mulau ni!  Shiok sendiri pula ba!

I went to Starbucks after work to test the environment since I am having a video call with someone VVIP tomorrow night!  Grrr!!!  If only the broadband connection at home is good; then I don't have to drive all the way down.  But just for this one special, important occasion.

Anyway, I wish I could find my favorite sunspot soon!  You see, LouLou have found his favorite spot!  Cheers to everyone who is looking or have found their favorite spot!

Dear Boss

I was reading 10 Signs Your Boss Really Cares About You.

And as if that is not good enough to verify the advantages of having the current boss, I tried this "Good Boss, Bad Boss" quiz.

The verdict?!
Your boss suffers from this many chronic flaws: 4 of 20
You have a damn good boss. You better treat him or her well!
Ooh yeah...

Except...

I cannot stand Mr. XYZ, Mr. ABC, Ms. OPQ, Ms. RST and...  alot more!!!

Kuih Kacang Hijau

Dear officemates,

Thank you for keeping some kuih kacang hijau for my coffee break.

I was touched by your thoughfulness.

Even when I ended up having my afternoon coffee alone at the canteen, I still feel super good!

Not a bad Monday!

Quickies: leadership forum & book fair

Grrr!!!  Work, work, work is chasing me now.  But I must share with you these info:
  • 49th & 50th IATSS Forum - Apply to the IATSS Forum (International Association of Traffic & Safety Sciences, an ASEAN young professional leadership forum started by Soichiro Honda, the founder of Honda.  I saw it in the NST Saturday edition - I seldom read NST but The Star was sold out when I went to the store & I just picked it to see updates on Japan's tsunami.
  • Popular Book Fair - Nationwide - Perfect for budget-tight book-lover a.k.a ME!!!  By the way, I checked MPH and they have this 50% bin where all the not-so-perfect-but-still-can-read books go to.  I was not in the mood to look for one because the mall was very crowded with holidaying kids!  It made me so dizzy.
That's all for now.

Have a happy period! good Monday!

Clean before it goes away

Image from the superb weheartit!
As I am counting the hour to go home (I am at work now), I keep thinking how desperate I need to clean my room.  Crazy, isn't it?  My colleagues were discussing where to celebrate the fresh year tonight.  But me, my mind is racing towards the room, the house...

The floor feels uncomfortably carpet-ish; mostly because of the boys are so generous to fill the naked floor with their furs.

The makeup table is full of yesterdays' newspapers instead of makeups.  And cookies.  And last night's coffee mug.

I must clear and get rid of all junkies before it strike 00:00 hours on January 1st, 2011!!!  You hold on there, girl!!!

Out of here!

Image taken from weheartit

My work is completed and I had passed down whatever necessary to my colleagues, as well as notifying my supervisor on the latest updates before I’m off for holidays.  I didn’t take a long break this time.  Seriously, this one is super duper short compare to the usual two-weeks that I took in previous Christmases.

Despite my absence in Grandma’s house this year, I’m still glad that I’ve got my favorite snack from kampung.  It is not really a snack; more of an appetizer due to its sour taste.  But sometimes I like to eat it without rice.  OMG!  Just writing about it makes me salivating!!!

Tomorrow is an adventure.  But that’s another story.

Happy face, I like!

“Being happy doesn't mean that

everything is p e r f e c t .

It means that you've decided to look

Ooh, turtle-ish me!

I woke up late today; amazingly squeezed all my daily routine into 15-minutes, which I leisurely do in 30 to 45 minutes when I am not rushing.  Ooh!  Except that I have to bring along my socks and shoes instead of wearing them before I drove out of the house.

This made me thinking that, instead of forcing myself to wake up at 7 every morning; I should just sleep until 7.30!  Based on today’s situation, obviously I still manage to come to work on time, err… actually, 360 seconds earlier than the schedule!

But then again…

I would not have time to talk to the boys prior leaving them at home.

I would not be able to check my watermelon, chillies and pumpkin.

I might miss the Uncle Newspaper’s delivery at our office (although I still can block and “harass” him when I bump into him at the gate, evil!).

I cannot drive at a turtle’s speed of 60 to 70 kilometres per hour.

Ooh!  I just hate getting up early as much as dashing off to work!

Look into my eyes

This is what my expression today, well, sort of.

The blank look in the eyes sans wet, big nose.

It reads:
"Aww...  I am so lazy to get up this morning.  How I wish it is Saturday."
But it is alright.

At least, comes tomorrow it is Friday.

Lunch's crunchy note

Want a Raise? Wash Your Vagina

O M G !

It was the title that caught my eyes first.

So perfect for my post-lunch's please-snap-me-out-from-the-sleepiness.

Chocolate, attack!!!

Silly girls we are!

The intern bought a box of chocolate which we all sinfully indulged to the moment it landed in the office…
Until the boss suddenly decided to come down and see one of us!
All scramble to hide the half-bitten chocolate.

Sometimes doing something against the office rule is fun. And it bonds us girls too!

/winkwink!!!

Honey, I bring work to home!

I was watching Shorty running around the car porch in the wee hour today. Oh yeah, I need to soothe him before I can go back to sleep. That crazy dog! So while waiting for him to finish his short-series marathon, I saw my neighbor came home from work.

Just the day before, I brought back my work to home so that I can review the documents in my most comforting state: wearing sleepwear, coffee on the table, and playing my favorite music. So comforting that instead of reading the stuff, I surf internet and eat kuih kapit!

Back to the neighbor. See, she is working from 6pm to 2am. I think she does not have to bring stacks of paperwork to finish at the end of the shift. Well, unless, she got a plan or a report to read. But really, I think the chance of Shorty catching geckos is far greater than seeing her with a report.

I seldom bring home my work assignment unless it is really urgent i.e. expected to be on Boss’ desk before he comes in. Actually, I feel more stressful bringing the work home than leaving it at the office for tomorrow.

Enough about work.

What is on the TV now?

My retirement plan

I chuckled when I saw Whoelses’ comment for my book review.

Maybe if I do not sell it now, I will sell it later. This is what I thought when I came back from the flea market on the other day.

Maybe after I sold a book for RM4, I will get myself a hot beef soup noodle as a self-reward. I said.  Wait! Maybe one bowl of noodle is no longer cost me that cheap 10, 20 years from now.  I told myself.  You know, I have to consider inflation as well.

Then a friend jokingly said "You are buying books from him now, but in years to come you will be his competitor".

Ooh! I never really think how I will live my life once I am out of the workforce.  I was so itching to return to office when I took two weeks leave few months back.  The first two days were okay as I was recovering from travelling home.  However, the next few days onwards, I started to feel disoriented because I cannot find something to do (with my job). I was supposed to be happy because I can relax without having to bother about work but that was not the case.

I am still far from retiring; neither do I think my employer will be firing me soon, palis-palis, TOUCHWOOD!!!  I think I will be a second-hand bookseller when I am old.  Maybe I will drives to the flea market in my old car with boxes full of books and National Geographic magazines.

Getting hot and wet

Don't be fooled by the title!  {wink}

It just me trying to do more physical stuff around the house.  I thought I want to start joining yoga classes again but my schedule didn't permit me to.  Besides, the yoga class is quite a distance from my house.  Last time, my yoga class was situated just 5 minutes drive from home.  I could have just walk/jog to the class actually.  But geez...  After 1 hour or so of yoga, I usually drive home starving!  So no to far, far away class or else my little tummy will suffer.

So after work I decided to clean and mop the floor.  Then rearranging the sofa.  {erm, not nice}  Then still not satisfied, try to rearrange the sofa.  At last, I just rearranged it to the original position.  Silly, but I love to rearrange stuff once in a while.

Still, all these work didn't makes me sweat at all.  Zero.  What a disappointment!

Ooh, the floor is clean and shiny now.  No traces of Shorty theDog's and LouLou theCat's paw prints.  No furs.  They have to sleep outside tonight so I get to maintain the cleanliness at least for one more day.

Edited:
Shorty made a sad face and LouLou pretended to be sleeping when I asked them to sleep outside.  I ended up letting them running around in the house (and making mess in the process) before we went to bed.

Have a little faith in myself

I hate talking about work after the office hour.  I believe I should leave it at work once I am heading home.  Well, yeah, because usually I will be able talk to the girls on the spot if something is bothering me.  Today the boss told me not to keep everything to myself.  He even allows me to use the four-letter word if I really, really need to vent out my frustration.  Hahaha!!!  I might use that if the others are the source of all the anger and madness and the cousins of it.  But how can I be so frustrated with myself???

Take a deep breath.

I think.

Really.

I need to assure myself.

That I can do this.

Quicker than a Quickie

  • Had a late lunch at 2pm due to urgent stuff at workplace.  Thought want to skip but hate feeling hungry later in the afternoon.  Besides, I don't have biscuits in my drawer now, only a gluten-free yoghurt bar.  Not exactly what I like to go with my afternoon coffee.
  • Funny quote of the day (read full article here).  Despite me having no intention to have my own sooner/later, I still think there is something bothering, and objectionable about the part that reads "...or have none at all".
"The No. 1 thing people can do to be an eco-sexual is to have fewer kids, or have none at all," said Weiss, who is childless.
  • Was thinking of doing a bit of online shopping when I was dragged out of the office.  It was about work.  I missed my coffee.
